Spice labelling
The mature, dried, 2-mm- to 5-mm-large, irregular, rhombic-shaped, light to yellowish-red brown, extremely hard seeds as well as the leaves (trifoliate) are used as seasoning.
Taste
As they dry the seeds develop a characteristic mild "rammish smell". The seeds taste rather slimy and bitter; the leaves middly sharp and bitter.
